Time: 12:00PM – 2:00PM
Location: Cheesman Canyon
Last Sunday Jane and I hiked the Gill Trail to the Cheesman Canyon area of the South Platte River. I caught a 15 inch rainbow and a similar sized brown on a beadhead pheasant tail dangled off a yellow Letort hopper with a 36 inch leader. The flows were up in Cheesman Canyon, but because it is a tailwater, the river was clear and fishable.

Hey Dave, just want to clarify, you are catching up on some old blogs or something? I was looking for some warm enough spots to fish for my liking and was thinking South Platte, so I was excited to see your post! But…this doesn’t look like a recent trip to Deckers is it?
You are correct. I’ve been adding old trips to my blog. I have photo albums and fishing log entries from before 2010, so I have been combining and posting. They should display the correct date when I actually completed the fishing trip. I just thought it was a convenient place to archive my older fishing information. Sorry if this confused you.
