Mr. Weller, You often refer to a pool toy fly, but I can’t seem to find a pattern by that name. Is it actually known by another name, or can you supply a location to find the recipe?
Hi Howard,
Thanks for reading my blog. I guess the full name is Grillos Pool Toy, named after its designer, Andrew Grillos. The material list and tying instructions were in an old issue of Southwest Fly Fishing, and I made a copy of it that I keep in my pattern notebook. I did a Google search on Grillos Pool Toy, and you are in luck. Here is a link to the materials list and step by step tying instructions. Good luck and let me know how you make out.
